I’m Tom Stover. I’ve been working on and off with WordPress and websites in general since 2001, paid and unpaid. I have a degree in computer programming which resulted in publishing promotion testing software for military members. I’m formally trained in the C and Visual Basic.
I’ve worked in the computer department at a regional college responsible for the maintenance of their website which gained me knowledge of html, which naturally perked my interest and led me down the path of javascript, php and MySQL. That job also entailed desktop and network support, as well as FreeBSD tinkering.
Naturally, web development tools aligned with web hosting so i learned about various types of web hosting – shared, reseller, VPS and dedicated servers. I learned to use web hosting tools like cPanel.
It turns out, I’m a jack of all trades and master of none – and don’t pretend to be.
WordPress has always intrigued me. It has a user friendly interface that anyone can master in short time. I learned that there are thousands of WordPress Themes and Plugins, both free and paid, that can turn your own self administered website into a professional web presence.
I learned that WordPress is Fun!
I’m a grandpa now and blog for fun and to help friends. Hopefully, I can help you achieve independence in your path to learning about WordPress, Domains and Web Hosting to become your own Webmaster!
